Our clients are mainly in touch with the speedikon group of companies through individual consultants, but who are the various other members of our team who are involved in our projects and keep the business running? In our series “Charly’s Colleagues”, you’ll have the chance to meet our other team members every few weeks.
Mohsen Jamadi talks about his work as a developer, the speedikon team, and his connection to the Bergstrasse region.
Mohsen, you started working with us more than half a year ago and are actively supporting us as a developer. What exactly do you do as a developer and what are your responsibilities?
I’ve been working as a software developer at speedikon for over six months now, specifically on our facility management software speedikon C. My responsibilities involve various tasks aimed at enhancing our software.
A significant part of my role centers around creating new features and modules for speedikon C. To achieve this, I collaborate closely with my colleagues to understand the requirements and devise solutions. This includes writing code, as well as testing and seamlessly integrating new features into the existing software.
I also handle the identification and resolution of bugs and issues within the software. This involves monitoring bug reports, detecting the root causes of problems, and implementing solutions to ensure the smooth operation of our software.
Furthermore, I’m continually focused on improving our product’s performance. I assess and pinpoint areas where optimizations are possible, whether through code enhancements or other means, to maintain the software’s responsiveness and efficiency.
What exactly do you like about your job and what can make your work more difficult?
What I truly value in my role is the strong sense of teamwork and the excellent working environment at speedikon. We collaborate closely to achieve shared objectives, fostering the exchange of knowledge, creativity, and efficiency in our project work.
I’m also quite happy about how quickly the team embraced me as one of their own. Adapting to the company’s culture and work environment has been effortless, which greatly facilitates collaboration and enhances the overall enjoyment of my work.
At speedikon, teamwork is treated as a professional endeavor, and we have well-defined communication channels and processes in place to execute our tasks efficiently. This focus on organization enhances the quality of our work and ultimately leads to greater client satisfaction.
One notable challenge we face is the constant evolution of technology. We must ensure that we stay on top of the newest developments, and we achieve this by continuously learning and undergoing training on these topics. So even though it’s a challenge, it’s one that we have an effective roadmap for to tackle.
Is there a current project that you would like to talk about in more detail?
Absolutely, I’m presently working on further developing speedikon C. Our software is designed to handle a wide range of data and the associated processes. This encompasses 2D and 3D graphical data, building information, technical equipment details, and data from IoT systems, such as live values. This data is centrally accessible and can be subject to analysis using robust tools. We can perform mathematical evaluations and present the findings in visually appealing reports and dashboards. This not only ensures the efficient utilization of data but also delivers added value to all stakeholders involved.
