“Charly’s Colleagues” – Paul Kuch

Our clients are mainly in touch with the speedikon group of companies through individual consultants, but who are the various other members of our team who are involved in our projects and keep the business running? In our series “Charly’s Colleagues”, you’ll have the chance to meet our other team members every few weeks.

Paul Kuch talks about his work as an IT consultant, a new app he is currently working on, and his connection to the Bergstrasse region.

Paul, you started working for us as an IT consultant just a few months ago. What exactly do you do and what are your responsibilities?

As an IT consultant, I support our project managers in implementing client requirements in speedikon C. This includes understanding the depth of our system and also being able to use it. There is no shortage of learning here. In addition, I currently provide support in the areas of data imports, reports, notification app and general adjustments in speedikon C.

What exactly do you like about your job and what can make your work more difficult?

The tasks are versatile, but at the same time very techy. In my free time, I work a lot with PCs and do smaller configurations, but it’s good to work with colleagues who understand a lot more about tech and PCs than you do. At the same time, you learn to apply what you have learned at home in a professional environment.

Besides me, the only thing that can make my work more difficult is bad weather.

Is there a current project that you would like to talk about in more detail?

Yes, the Notification App. Currently, most modules in speedikon C are desktop-based, such as the helpdesk. Thanks to Blazor and our programming, we now have the ability to configure the helpdesk dynamically and optimize it for mobile devices. This is especially important because speedikon C uses lists for pretty much everything. However, such lists cannot be displayed on a small cell phone, so another technique was needed. With the new technique, lists are now displayed in tile form. These tiles automatically adapt to the screen width and other features.

Configuring this is a lot of fun! I was also able to integrate my own ideas more in this project than in other projects. Besides being fun to configure, the changes are also very useful, so it feels good to be part of this project.

speedikon FM AG is based in Bensheim in the Bergstrasse region. What is your connection to the area and what do you like about it?

Born and raised in Bensheim, this region is my home. That alone makes me feel very much at home here. We have good weather for the most part and lots of activities – from laser tag to lakes to hiking tours up the Melibokus mountain. What I also like are the many clubs one can join to grow personally and of course the people with whom I am closely connected.
