Let’s make data centers more sustainable together!

Data centers are the backbone of our information society. But with the exponential growth of digital infrastructure, energy consumption is also increasing. Increased electricity costs and strict reporting requirements in accordance with European guidelines like CSRD, the GPP, the EU Digital Product Passport and the UN Sustainable Development Goals are putting pressure on data centers to minimize their environmental impact. In Germany, the Energy Efficiency Act further tightens these requirements by requiring certain companies to comply with strict efficiency standards.

This, of course, makes it even more important to find solutions for the sustainable operation of data centers. However, many data center planners and operators lack solutions to achieve their sustainability goals.

That is why we have teamed up with Kyndryl, the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences and Ubermetrics Technologies GmbH. Together, we are developing the Going Green Impact Platform (GGIP), which will help European companies to accurately measure and report on the sustainability impact of their data centers. Actionable sustainability metrics will be implemented to promote the development of sustainable digital services and products, while artificial intelligence will be used to create a self-learning system that provides all the necessary data from planning to operation and enables reporting. By comparing planning and operating data, the system can be continuously optimized so that real-time data can be used for planning in the future.

The platform will offer “transparency at the touch of a button”, making it easier to integrate ESG compliance into existing processes and tools. This reduces the effort required for tedious documentation tasks and allows specialists to focus on value-adding activities.

As soon as the development of this modular platform has been completed, it will be integrated into our DCIM solution speedikon DAMS and can be offered immediately to all interested parties.

And now it’s your turn:
we are looking for more partners who want to help us develop the GGIP for greener data centers!

You’ll have the chance to find out all about our project and how you can participate in a free webinar on October 7 and 15. You can register for free via our events page that you can find following this link. The webinar will be held in German.
