We have released a new function package with our latest speedikon® C version 4.2: variant planning.
It is a common practice to create various scenarios of new occupancies and furniture layouts within planning of complex moves. For obvious reasons, these scenarios are created within detached copies, also called variants. This way existing data within the data base remain untouched while during the planning process.
Thereby, speedikon® C adds complete subtrees including the respective graphical components to a variant. The objects are freely editable within these variants and compared with the original data when resynchronised with the data base.
The functions and edit possibilities within the variants are identical to the primary component. This way, the users do not have to adapt to new processing methods within layout planning of furniture and/or occupancy planning. The time slider is, of course, also considered when synchronising the variant with the data base. Thus, all object modifications are set to a specific key date. This enables possibilities to track changes and to display occupancies or further layout scenarios from the past.
Variant data is automatically compared with current data within the synchronisation process. speedikon® C connects objects, that have been terminated in the variant, to the above hierarchy structure. So, for example, when a room that holds a successor object such as a table is terminated – this table is then automatically connected to the above hierarchy. In this case, the level of the building. This way, no important information is lost.
The synchronisation is executed selectively. This allows the user full control over the synchronised data at every point in time.
